  • Thanks for a great day on Sunday, really enjoyable and very well organized. Overall the organisers did one hell of a job in organising this great event and as far as I'm concerned it was a fantastic day and I'll definitely be back.

  • I just want to thank everyone on the Connemara Marathon team for making yesterday so special. It was a day from heaven - even if large parts of it did fell like hell :)

  • Thanks very much to everyone involved, that was just brilliant, I didn't hit the wall, it fell on top of me, finishing was one of the best things I have ever done and I'll definitely be back next year.

What is the RONHILL Connemarathon?

The RONHILL Connemara International Marathon is a day of road running/racing around a very scenic part of the West of Ireland.

Comprising of a Half Marathon, a Full Marathon and an on-road Ultra Marathon (39.3 miles) all taking place on the one day on April 1st 2012. Entry fee for 2012 is €70.00(Euro).

The 2011 event was a sell out with over 3,300 entries with representation from 29 Countries.

Details:
Ultra Marathon (39.3 miles) 9:00am
Full Marathon (26.2 miles) 10:30am
Half Marathon (13.1 miles) 12:00pm

Entry includes:
Bus Transfer from Galway, Oughterard and Clifden directly to race start
The race, including all the usual race support along the route.
Lots and Lots and Lots of 250ml Sports Cap Bottles of Water every 3 miles approx.
Sports Drinks at certain stations.
Portaloos at start, finish and every 3 miles (there were 70 in 2010)
Over 200 volunteers along the route.
15 Medical Personnel and Race Doctor, 3 Ambulances and a Medic Motorbike.
Hopefully the elation of finishing one of the world's truly magical marathon experiences.
Your Finishers Medal.
Your Finishers Ronhill Technical Tee Shirt. (The classic Blue 'I Hit the Wall in Connemara' ones that you see everywhere)
Lots of fruit and yet more water at the finish.
Post Race refreshments at finish area.
Buses back to your starting location (78 buses were employed by the 2011 Connemarathon).
