Not long until April 1st!

  • Ray, I had a fabulous weekend. I really enjoyed the run. It's a unique and great event. Liam, Gary, Aisling and Tony all had a great time. Special mention to the marquee - well laid out and great grub.

  • I had a very slow run due to a pre race illness but didn't mind as it gave me an excuse to have even more time on the lovely course and to chat to some of my fellow participants along the way. will have to come back next year to bury the demons!

  • This was my first real run, and now I am totally hooked. I just wanted to thank everyone involved, and say that I can't wait for next years Full Marathon. Keep up the fantastic work.

What a day!

Connemara in all it's glory.

3,000 people crossed the finish line of the three races today in glorious sunshine, surrounded by fantastic support and wearing lots of smiles.

Th3 39.3 mile Connemara Ultra Marathon was won by the current 100K World Champion Giorgio Calcaterra in an amazing 3 hours 56 minutes and 56 seconds, becoming the first to break the four hour barrier.

Race Cirector Ray O'Connor, commented, "Watching the World Champion, Giorgio win the Ultra was amazing but when it was followed by a proposal of marriage by an ultra participant at the finish line, the emotion of the day hit an even higher point. So many people ran for good causes or personal challenges and each had a story to tell."

Results will be published in Monday's Irish Independent.
