  • I just want to thank everyone on the Connemara Marathon team for making yesterday so special. It was a day from heaven - even if large parts of it did fell like hell :)

  • Splendid event and a fantastic environment for it (and you managed excellent weather!). Your organisation was incredible, everything thought of and available in huge quantities; gallons of water out there, and lots of food at the finish.

  • This was my first real run, and now I am totally hooked. I just wanted to thank everyone involved, and say that I can't wait for next years Full Marathon. Keep up the fantastic work.

We love getting emails. We love answering questions. And we love easing concerns and worries prior to the event. Because happy participants are important to us.

Here’s some Ultra questions we’ve answered lately... (in the same text as we answered too)

The Ultra Post Race Baggage is a bit different to the other post race baggage area. You can put your own bag (any size you want) into the area yourself, just before getting on the buses to race start. The briefing is in Peacockes which is also the finish so it's all nice an compact.
...............

We print separate Ultra T-Shirts but some ultra finishers prefer the regular ones. It's up to you, but I suspect you will like the ones with a huge ULTRA printed across the front.
................

We do have Tuc biscuits at the ultra stations too but I really wouldn't depend on them. I had a dear old lady email me a few years back saying how wonderful the half marathon was, particularly with the very well stocked aid stations! :-D
..................

Ultra drops at mile 5, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 26, 29, 32, 35 and 37
There are energy drinks, (no gels) at the marathon mile 9, 19 and 22 BUT, because there will be 3,000 people passing the last two locations you should not depend on anything other than what you place at the Ultra Stations.
..................

Water available at all stations. You are allowed to put supplies at any three of these stations. This is done at pre race briefing.
..................

At the pre race briefing in Peacockes there will be 11 bins marked with the mile markers.
..................

Participants usually bag their items to make them into one. You can put up to three along the course. So put your change in a bag. It is up to you to identify your own items, ribbons, flowers, colours etc. Don't depend on getting your items back from the station after the event.
