This was my first real run, and now I am totally hooked. I just wanted to thank everyone involved, and say that I can't wait for next years Full Marathon. Keep up the fantastic work.

I can't say enough good things about the organisers and the brilliant people who manned the aid stations, thanks indeed for one of the best and most memorable days ever. Looking forward to 2008! (after another day or two sitting down)
More Italian TV Interest in Connemara
Tue, 21/02/2012The Italian TV channel Rete4 will be covering the Connemarathon this year for their program "Correndo per il monad" which has a tv audience of 1,000,000.
The broadcast name, translated in English is "World Running" is broadcast by the National TV channel, Rete4 which is the most popular private TV channel in Italy.
The episode will be 45 minutes of which 20 minutes will follow the presenter "Roberto Giordano" as he competes in the 39.3 mile Ultra Marathon and the remaining time will be used to showcase Connemara as a distinctive travel destination. Fáilte Ireland West's Fiona Monaghan said "We have been working with the Connemarathon for many years and the recent heightened international interest in the event is the culmination of a targeted focus on the Italian market. Our plan for the next three years will be to increase overseas visitors and we will continue to work with the European offices to promote this world class event."
