Thanks very much to everyone involved, that was just brilliant, I didn't hit the wall, it fell on top of me, finishing was one of the best things I have ever done and I'll definitely be back next year.

Thanks for the effort to organize Connemara 2007, there are no words to say how beautiful was the day, and without a proper organization the weather would not have been enough (and the marathon would just not exists).
Legend to visit Galway for the Buitoni Connemarathon
Fri, 20/03/2009One of the greatest distance runners of all time, Ron Hill, is to visit Galway as part of the annual Buitoni Connemara Marathon which takes place this weekend.
A former world record holder and winner of the Boston and European marathon championships, Ron Hill, now aged 70, is equally famous for having run every single day since 1964 and will be taking part in the popular Half Marathon on Sunday next.
Ray O'Connor, Race Director of the Buitoni Connemara Marathon commented, 'I am in awe of this man - he is a true legend in the world of running, not only for his competitive achievements at International level but the fact that he has not missed a days running in over 45 years - that's amazing.' Ray continues, 'In this era of economic gloom it is great to have some good news for a change - attracting Buitoni as a title sponsor to a West of Ireland event has been the highlight of my year and now having Ron Hill endorsing the event is just too good to believe.'
There will be a special 'MEET RON' opportunity at the Connemara marathon Registration in the Marriott Hotel Galway from 4 to 7pm and Saturday 21st March. For those of you who are a little bit more adventurous Ron will be running the Prom in Salthill on Saturday morning starting at Blackrock at 12 - so please come along and run with him for a mile or two.
