I had a very slow run due to a pre race illness but didn't mind as it gave me an excuse to have even more time on the lovely course and to chat to some of my fellow participants along the way. will have to come back next year to bury the demons!

Splendid event and a fantastic environment for it (and you managed excellent weather!). Your organisation was incredible, everything thought of and available in huge quantities; gallons of water out there, and lots of food at the finish.

I had the pleasure of running the Connemara International Half Marathon yesterday, 1hr 58! Yeoowh!!. The weather was amazing, the course was amazing, the runners, the locals, and staff were amazing! I've rarely had such a good time exercising.
Entries surge past 2,000
Mon, 09/11/2009With five months to go, over 2,000 have already secured their places to run, walk and crawl the 2010 RONHILL Connemarathon.
Entry levels have literally surged after the hugely successful staging of the 30th Dublin Marathon. "It is always a busy month for entries, but the level of interest this year is unprecedented and it looks like an earlier sell out date is on the cards this year" said Race Director Ray O'Connor. "Last year's event sold out on December 16th and if entry levels keep increasing as they have over the past few days, the event could be sold out within a matter of weeks."
We have to limit the amount of entrants because of the massive logistics involved in operating such a large scale event in a remote area like Connemara. The management of up to 80 buses to get everyone to the various start lines on time, the narrow roads, and the tight finish area are all factors which are considered when setting entry numbers with consideration for each and every participant's safety our number one priority.
