Ray and team, Thanks for a fantastic event once again on Sunday. The organisation was super once again and you even managed to arrange the first real sunny day of the year for us!

I really must be one of the early ones in the long queue of congratulation emails you will get. To all involved in the organisation of this race THANK YOU. Can I enter yet for next year????????

Thanks for the effort to organize Connemara 2007, there are no words to say how beautiful was the day, and without a proper organization the weather would not have been enough (and the marathon would just not exists).
Course Record Bonuses on offer for RONHILL Connemara Full and Ultra Marathons.
Tue, 10/11/2009The 2010 RONHILL Connemara Marathon and Ultra Marathon promise to be very exciting events as a 1,000 Euro Course Record Bonus will be on offer to the winner for both the men's and women's races... an incentive to get 'round even quicker!
Of particular interest will be the Men's Ultra Marathon record which is currently held by UK's Denis Walmsley who covered the 39.3 mile course in a blistering 4 hours 10 minutes and 38 seconds back in 2005. In doing so he posted very impressive half marathon splits of 1:20, 1:25, 1:25... or to put is another way, Denis ran a 2:45 marathon and followed up with a 1:25 half marathon as a cool down! Interestingly Denis is the current World Masters Marathon V45 Champion. Helena Crossin's 4 hour 40 minute Ultra record will be very tough to beat also.
The Connemarathon Records for Full and Ultra are
Men's Ultra Marathon Record, Denis Walmsley, UK 4:10:38 run in 2005
Women's Ultra Marathon Record, Helena Crossin, Ireland 4:40:12 run in 2008
Men's Full Marathon Record, Isaac Kimuge, Kenya, 2:30:55 run in 2003
Women's Full Marathon Record, Josephine Kiprop, Kenya, 3:01:06 run in 2005
There is also a first prize of 500euro in all six races.
