Thanks for the effort to organize Connemara 2007, there are no words to say how beautiful was the day, and without a proper organization the weather would not have been enough (and the marathon would just not exists).

I really must be one of the early ones in the long queue of congratulation emails you will get. To all involved in the organisation of this race THANK YOU. Can I enter yet for next year????????

Just a quick mail to say thank you very much for a wonderfully run race. The atmosphere was fantastic as always, and the whole event seemed to run without a hitch. The best half marathon in Ireland, without a doubt.

Hey congrats on signing up
Hey congrats on signing up for the marathon you'll love the experience, the crowds and atmosphere in Dublin are great.
My advice would be to get a training programme done for yourself of maybe 4-5 months. A consistent running plan if done properly and with the correct increase in mileage will really help. You dont want to go out all guns blazing doing big miles that your not used to and pick up injuries. So little by little increase the work load. Also dont neglect to do some kind of core and conditioning training also this will help injury prevention, and if you do feel tired, sick or you may have a little niggle dont be afraid to rest for a few days as the longer term benefits will outweigh the frustration of a missed session.
Hope this helps and good luck.
Do we also get t-shirts for

Hi Jenny,from about last
Hi Jenny, from about last September up to about Christmas I was goin to a physio who was giving me rubs on my quads ,thigh muscles, calves and he was also doin some dry needling on the pattella to improve blood flow around the tendon,I was doing some swimming and cycling in the gym and doing squats,I didn't do any form of running,in jan I got the prp injection but all of the above we're didn't seem to work with some days having a lot of pain,I changed physio and she has told me to stop all of the above, she does a lot of massaging on the knee and she also uses shock wave therapy on it also,I am also doing hip strengthing excercises,am goin to her for around 3 weeks but the knee is no worse or better,do I persist with this physio or would you have any other ideas, corbebr
Hi Corbebr Sorry to hear you
Hi Corbebr
Sorry to hear you are having such problems after the fracture. What are you doing with your physio at the moment, when did you last see him/her? What is your plan and exercise programme? What level of running / training are you at?

Hi Hibernia, You need to
Hi Hibernia,
You need to work on this ligament strain - the ligaments are there to prevent undue pressure in particuklar directions through the joint. If they are not doing their job, then the muscles have to step up to compensate and the joint itself may be affected.
The usual rehab for this is not long (maybe 4-6 weeks depending on the level of strain) and needs to target the gluts, quads and overall balance of the leg.
Get into your Chartered Physio, who will also need to do some friction work on the ligament itself (painful but effective) and get a plan.
Good luck,
Jenny www.totalphysio.ie
